When Using a Database, Remember to:

- Use ‘Advanced’ Search (not ‘Basic’)

- Tick Box for ‘Full Text’
- Use ‘NOT’ to Eliminate ‘Clutter’ from Results (AND and OR are also handy)

- Use Academic Language (e.g. adolescents not teenagers)
- Use ‘Advanced’ Search (not ‘Basic’)

- Read the Margins! (use them for good search terms and to narrow your search results)

- Read the Subject Headings and Abstract First (to decide if it’s worth your time to read more)

- Get the APA Citation for your Bibliography (then your reference will be perfectly correct!)

- Email or Export the Article (so you have it for later)
